"Prayer" by Heidi Ross. Oil on canvas.

"Prayer" by Heidi Ross is a 12"x12" oil on canvas.  My youngest son posed for this painting.  He says the sweetest prayers.  His faith is amazing.  It was so fun to create this painting.

"Claire" by Heidi Ross oil painting on canvas

I've just finished my "Claire" painting.  It's an oil painting on canvas, 30" x 40"  It's fun to see the painting come to life in the video.  I think my work always goes through an ugly duckling phase.  It gets ugly before it starts looking good.  Maybe one day I'll get good enough that it will look good the whole time :P

Sips and Strokes Painting Class

The painting class was a success.  I had the opportunity to teach a painting class at my church.  The ladies did a great job on their paintings.  We had delicious Italian sodas and bread with olive oil dip.  I only wish we had had more time.

Painting Class

I will be teaching painting class tonight at the church I attend.  I have a lot of experience teaching painting, but never this big of a group.  Should be fun.

We'll be painting this nativity scene.

Claire Oil Painting, part 1

I've started work on an oil painting portrait "Claire"  It's a painting of my daughter.  This is the under-painting.  It's the skeleton of the painting where I work out all the values of the piece.  My daughter was so happy to pose for it.  She got to dress up as a "princess."

Alice Hicken Oil Painting

I'm working on a Christmas gift for my 99 year old Grandpa.  It's an oil painting of my beautiful grandmother, Alice Hicken.  It's almost complete. Here is the progression. The canvas is 18x24.  This is my first attempt at portrait painting.  It really flew onto the canvas.  I'm surprised by how quickly it's coming together.

Acrylic on Canvas Progress Aug 25 2017

I've been working on this acrylic on canvas.  It's 24x30.  I started one direction with it and now I'm not sure where it's going to end up.  It seems to have a mind of it's own.
